Love to visit libraries? Join the Expedition! Visit as many of the 36 unique libraries in the Upper Hudson Library System as you can during September, October, and November. It’s a self-guided tour; road trip to our libraries as a family and enjoy the journey to our intriguing library destinations. You’ll earn prizes when you’ve visited 5, 15, 25, and 36 locations. Visit them all and become a 36er!

Tween/Teen Art Night

  • suppliesOctober 23rd – Spooky Lanterns
    Using tissue paper, decals, and clear jars, we will make spooky lanterns that can hold a candle! Light up your house on Halloween night! Ages 8-14. Registration is required.  Register online. 



Family Craft Night: 3D Fall Tree Art

Main Library

November’s activity “3D Fall Tree Art” will have children, with the help of their family member(s), create tree art and sculptures celebrating the Fall season using a variety of craft supplies. All materials provided by the library. Dress for mess!

Child(ren) must be present in the program to receive craft materials.  Registration is required. Registrants must be aged 4-12, accompanied by an adult.  Register online.


Halloween Fun


Calling all kids…Join us for some Halloween fun at the Main Library:

  • Monday, October 22nd: Drop–in Craft, all day for children ages 3 to 12.
  • Wednesday, October 31st: Trick or Treat: Kids in costume get a free book

Brick Builders

Join us for a fun filled night of building with LEGOs. All creations will be displayed at the library. All LEGOS are supplied by the library. Please leave your personal LEGOs at home; we don’t want you to lose or confuse your favorite pieces with the library’s.

Registration is not required. Participants must be at least 4 years old. All children ages 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times.


Preschool Family Storytime

Family Storytime – Grow a Reader!
This 45 minute enrichment program includes stories, songs, and movement to support children’s learning and discovery from the very beginning. For children ages 0-5 with a caregiver.
