Love to visit libraries? Join the Expedition! Visit as many of the 36 unique libraries in the Upper Hudson Library System as you can during September, October, November, and December. It’s a self-guided tour; road trip to our libraries as a family and enjoy the journey to our intriguing library destinations. You’ll earn prizes when you’ve visited 5, 15, 25, and 36 locations. Visit them all and become a 36er!

Dance Story hour with Ellen Sinopoli

The artistic director of the Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company will read from her favorite children’s books and conduct movement exercises related to the stories. For children ages 2-5 with an adult.


Gingerbread Fun!


Tuesday, December 18th at 4:00 pm
Main Library

Join us while we sip hot cocoa and decorate cookies and a gingerbread house. Kids ages 4 and up. Please Call to register or sign up online.

Preschool Family Storytime

Family Storytime – Grow a Reader!
This 45 minute enrichment program includes stories, songs, and movement to support children’s learning and discovery from the very beginning. For children ages 0-5 with a caregiver.

Main Library:

  • Thursdays at 10:30 am (no Storytime on December 6th)

Children are invited to build reading confidence by sharing a book with Greta, the Reading Dog.

All ages welcome for this drop-in event.

Teddy the Reading Dog

If your child struggles with reading, bring him or her in to read to Teddy the Shih Tzu, who will help build reading confidence with a judgment-free ear and a wagging tail!  Stop in for a 15 minute appointment.
