Summer Reading Fun for Young People

Calling all kids…Have you ever seen a great horned owl? Danced with a chicken? Made your own ice cream? You can enjoy each of these experiences and more at your library this summer.

  • Lego League:  Mondays at 5:30 pm, Lansingburgh,  ages 4 and up
  • Teen Gaming:  Tuesdays at 3:00 pm-5:00 pm, Lansingburgh
  • Family Storytime: Thursdays at 10:30 am, Lansingburgh, ages 0-5

  • What’s the Scoop? Kids will make their own ice cream and learn a little science.  Tuesday, July 17th at 2:00 pm, Lansingburgh Branch, ages 5 and up
  • Puppet People: Three Little Pigs: Wednesday, July 18th at 6:30 pm, Main Library, ages 3 and up
  • DIY Instruments: Thursday, July 19th at 6:00 pm, Main Library, ages 4-11
  • Stories in the Park: Friday, July 20th at  11:00 am, Washington Park (2nd and Washington), ages 3 and up
  • Let’s Drum!  Tuesday, July 24th at 6:00 pm, Lansingburgh Branch, ages 3 and up
  • Art Night: Tuesday,  July 24th at 6:00 pm, Main Library, ages 8-16
  • Birds of Prey: Wednesday, July 25th at 11:00 am, Main Library, all ages
  • Farmer Minor & Daisy the Pig: Tuesday, July 31st at 11:00 am, Main Library, ages 3 and above

Library’s Rock! Summer Reading Challenge

Beginning Monday, June 25th, Young People ages preschool through Young Adult can sign up and get prizes just for reading.  Stop by the Young People’s Department or register online.

All Participants are invited to the End of Summer Reading Party on Tuesday, August 14th at 6 pm for more prizes, refreshments and special entertainment.

For the very youngest readers ask about the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Initiative.
